Facial Acupuncture

Facial Acupuncture is a type of Acupuncture treatment involving the insertion of very fine acupuncture needles into different areas of the face, in order to address particular skin-related issues or concerns.

Chinese Medicine teaches that facial acupuncture works by stimulating the body’s natural production of the proteins Collagen and Elastin in the skin. This in turn may encourage increased blood circulation to the treated area. Collectively, this can assist with the overall appearance of brighter, more rejuvenated looking skin.

The Treatment

A|S Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine uses high quality sterile and single-use acupuncture needles that have been specifically designed for the face, and combine gentle and relaxing Facial Acupuncture techniques that allow our patients to rest and rejuvenate throughout their treatment.

We also maintain our holistic philosophy by addressing general health concerns or other underlying factors that could be contributing to the current presentations of the skin.

How many sessions are required?

Each individual will respond differently to acupuncture, therefore results may vary from patient to patient. Initial results can generally be seen after the first few treatments, with more substantial changes seen after about 8-10 treatments.

Maintenance treatments are then generally recommended every 4-8 weeks. During your initial facial acupuncture session, our Chinese medicine practitioner can provide you with a personalised timeline in which results can be expected.
